If you are hired by Avalon and do not complete your 12-month term the reimbursement is prorated for the length of employment. What if I want to take the class first and then later decide to apply for employment with Avalon? If I am an Avalon employee, do I need to pay for my own tuition or state testing fees?Īs an Avalon Employee you will pay for your testing fees and submit it to the facility for reimbursement. You can attend any class at any Avalon facility free of charge if you are already an employee. What if I already work for an Avalon facility, but there are only classes being offered at a different facility then where I work? CNA stands for Certified Nursing Assistant. In 1987, the Nursing Home Reform Act was adopted by congress and defined training and evaluation standards for nursing assistants. You may purchase your own stethoscope and blood pressure cuff (optional), or you may use ours during class for no additional fee. Required supplies: You will need white non-slip athletic style comfortable shoes, a watch with a second-hand, and white scrubs. Avalon will cover the cost of your exam fee if you are offered employment with any of our facilities. State Exam testing fee: The state of California exam requires a payment of $105 to the test administrator: The American Red Cross. The students will pay directly to the American Red Cross for their testing. Price includes: Classroom and clinical instruction, textbook to borrow, blood pressure cuff and stethoscope to borrow, use of all necessary supplies during class, a name badge, and a workbook with additional study materials to keep. Avalon’s training centers for the Certified Nursing Assistant Program exceed this minimum by providing 60 hours of theory and 112 hours of instruction in a clinical setting, to ensure the success rate of our students. California requires 60 hours of theory and 100 hours of clinical training.
